Motor Power System Energy Saving Visit and Demonstration Case Seminar (Minxiong Kaneto Bridge Industrial Park Site)
According to the 2016 Global Energy Overview of the International Energy Agency (IEA), 53% of global end-use electricity is used for motor-powered equipment. Among them, according to statistics from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), about 80% are used in air compressors, pumps, fans, air conditioning and refrigeration. In response to this situation, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has upgraded the motor efficiency to IE3 level since July 1, 2020, and officially implemented the air compressor efficiency standard (d value must be greater than -5) on January 1, 2010. Energy efficiency benchmarks also came into effect on January 1, 2012, while standards for ventilators will be implemented on July 1, 2013. It is hoped that this will prompt the market to move to high-efficiency equipment to achieve power savings.
